The purpose of this post is to provide some basic information about can you use a hammer drill as a jackhammer. If you are interested in using a jackhammer, then read on!

Can You Use A Hammer Drill As A Jackhammer?

You may have heard that it’s possible to break through concrete with a jackhammer. But what if I told you that it isn’t really necessary? Can you just use a hammer drill instead?

Well, yes and no. Yes, because it does work. However, there are some downsides to using a jackhammer. Let me explain why…

Jackhammers aren’t cheap; they cost thousands of dollars. They’re also loud (and potentially dangerous). And while you could probably get away with using one for free, the noise would still bother others nearby. So, you’d need to make sure that your neighbors wouldn’t complain.

A hammer drill will do the job just fine. While it won’t be quite as loud or noisy, it’ll certainly do the job. Plus, you don’t have to worry about other people hearing or seeing what you’re doing!

So how much money would you spend on a jackhammer versus a hammer drill? So, if you want to do it right, you’ll need to invest in a good one.

So how much money will it take to buy a jackhammer? Well, let’s say that you can get away with spending $5k on your project. That means that you’d need at least $50k worth of equipment! Now, obviously this is going to vary depending on where you live and what kind of job you’re doing.

If you’ve read this far, then you probably care about saving money. And that’s why I’m going to show you how to get a hammer drill for less than $100. No, that isn’t a typo. You can get a brand-new hammer drill for under $100… but there is a catch.

There’s always a catch, right?

The catch is that this is a refurbished one and it might not last as long as a new one. But there is no way around this. You must spend at least $5k for the jackhammer alone. This is to ensure that you have a good one that will last and do the job right.

Now, what about a hammer drill? Well, there are many options available. For example, you can get a corded hammer drill, or a cordless hammer drill. Both of these options start at around $200 and go up from there. I bought one recently for $89.99.

Now, I have to replace it every 4-6 months because the motor burns out. It’s not a big deal for me because I only use it for private projects. I’m not really concerned about recovering the cost since I just use it for fun in my free time.

If you wanted to buy a new one, they’re around $200 from reputable dealers. But if you want the best of the best, you’re going to have to pay a lot more.

In fact, if you want the best cordless hammer drill out there, be prepared to spend $1000 or more. But hey, it might be worth it to you. However, if you want great quality but don’t want to spend quite so much, there are other options available to you.

The good thing is this: you can get a used corded hammer drill for under $100. But again, there’s a catch. They don’t last quite as long, so you’ll need to replace them every 2-3 years or so. This is why I still buy new ones too.

My favorite place to buy tools is Harbor Freight Tools primarily because of their great quality-to-price ratio! But I wouldn’t advise getting a refurbished one from eBay. You never know what you’re going to get.

Instead of going with a corded hammer drill, I would go with a cordless one. They start around $150 and go up from there. I have one that cost around $200 and it seems to work well so far. I’ve had it for about a year now.

I love not being tied down with it!
