How to Hang String Lights on Deck?
The easiest way to hang string lights on deck is with hanging ropes. These are made from rope and nylon webbing.
They come in different sizes and colors which you can choose according to your requirements. You can use these hanging ropes when there are no trees or other obstructions around the area where you want to place them.
You can also use the hanging ropes if you have a small space around your deck. There are various types of rope available in different materials such as wood, plastic, metal and even rubber.
You need to make sure that it is strong enough to support the weight of the strings you intend to hang. If not then they will break easily when you try to pull them up. So make sure that it is sturdy enough before using it!
Hanging ropes come in many shapes and sizes. Some of them are round, square, triangular, oval and others.
All kinds of rope are suitable for hanging string lights depending upon their strength and durability.
There are two types of rope used for hanging string lights on deck; nylon webbing and polyester cordage. Nylon webbing is a type of flexible material that is usually manufactured from natural fibers such as cotton or hemp.
If you want to hang string lights on deck but don’t have any room, then you can always buy some rope at hardware stores. However, it would be better if you could get something like this hanging rope from Home Depot instead.
It comes in a variety of lengths and widths so that you can find one that suits your needs best.
Hanging Ropes for Outdoor String Lights Pole
There are many types of outdoor string light poles available online. Before you decide to buy one, you need to make sure that it is suitable for your needs and preferences.
If you do not want to go through the hassle of researching all the different light poles, you can just buy a hanging rope.
This will save your time and energy but most importantly, it saves you from making a bad choice. The most popular outdoor string light pole is a wooden post that is specifically made for string lights.
It is easy to install. You can just stake it into the ground and then wrap the lights around it. This is a popular option because you do not have to drill any holes into your deck or yard to mount it. However, some people want something a little sturdier so they opt for a metal pole instead.
Hanging Rope for Deck String Lights
These are very easy to use and quite affordable. They work best when you need to hang string lights over a fence or railing.
You just need to drill two holes into the surface that you want to mount it on, insert the bolts and then tighten them.
The only problem with this method is that the bolts may be visible. However, if you place the light high enough above the railing then no one will be able to see them at all.
You can always paint the bolts to match the color of your fence or deck to solve this issue.
If you want a cheaper but less visible option then you can just use hooks instead of bolts. You just have to drill the holes and hang the hooks on them.
The only problem with this method is that it is not as stable as bolts so be careful when you use it.
Another thing you should consider is the distance between the light and where you drill the holes. You need to make sure that it is far enough away from the surface or else the light will be at a weird angle.
If this happens then no one will be able to see the lights properly and this defeats the whole purpose of installing them in the first place.
Before you buy anything, it is best if you do a test run to see if the lights will be face the right way or not. All you need to do is measure the distance between the lights and the mounting surface and then make a mark on the ground where you think the bolts should go.
Once you do this, get the lights out again and place them at the marks. This way, you can get an idea of whether or not the lights look good.
Realistic Hanging Rope for String Lights
These are very similar to hanging ropes but they are specifically designed to be used with outdoor string lights. They are made from weather-resistant materials so they won’t be damaged by the sun or rain.
They are also heavier than regular hanging ropes so they won’t blow around in the wind and cause your lights to swing back and forth. The bolts that you use to secure these to your deck or fence should be hidden from view as they are shorter than regular bolts.
The only major drawback that most people see in these is the price. They cost more than regular hanging ropes.
However, if you want something that is going to last you a long time then it might be worth the investment.
