It just needs an entrance, a place to work and enough protection from the outside to keep out water, wind and other unfriendly things. From there you can simply close yourself up in it for days, weeks, months, years even until you feel like coming out again. Once you start doing this, it becomes very easy to lose track of time.
It’s also important to keep your supplies up. If you don’t have any more wood then you can’t build any more walls. So it’s important to keep your supply lines open so that you never have a shortage. This means keeping the cash flowing into your in-game bank account. Without money, you won’t be able to buy the supplies that you need.
Also, it’s important to remember that this is a marathon, not a race. You won’t age, you don’t need to eat or sleep and if you do it’s not really for any extended amount of time. All this means is that it’s very easy to become a hermit and forget that the rest of the world even exists.
You’ll be able to watch everything happening outside your bunker but you won’t be able to physically interact with anything or anyone. Don’t try to rush things. If you don’t have the supplies or skill to build a certain wall, then come back to it later when you do. Finally, it’s important to keep your strength up and your mind focused. Building a house can be very mental as well as physical so don’t skip on the meals or the sleep because you want to get the most out of each day.
It’s also important to know when to stop building. You’ll be able to communicate with people through the internet but only if you set up a connection before closing yourself up.
If you do these things, then you’ll be able to finish your home without any distractions and enjoy it for as long as you like.
If you’re serious about finishing your home then it’s time to start building your bunker, if not then now’s the time to bail out and stay above-ground. Just because you finished building your house doesn’t mean there isn’t still more that you can do to make it better or add on to it in the future.
If you want to build a house for others to visit then you need to design it with entertaining or living arrangements for more than one person. Also, it’s important to keep in mind that other people may want different things out of their homes so you should leave room for customization so that everyone can make their home their own.
