The Sunniest City in America?
It’s no secret that San Francisco is considered the sunniest city in America. In fact, with at least 300 days of sun a year, it’s almost like living in a desert, except with the cool ocean breeze. If you can handle the fog in the winter, then you’ll definitely be able to enjoy the magnificent sunsets of the summer.
But when the sun goes down, that’s when this bustling city comes alive. This is the perfect time to get off your feet and relax after a long day of sightseeing or shopping. The best view of these incredible sunsets are from the beach or the bay itself. There is a reason why this city by the bay is also considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
A great place to people watch is from the famous Pier 39. You’ll see everyone from international tourists taking selfies to newlyweds on their honeymoon. When you’ve had your fill of people watching, it’s time to find a place to watch the beautiful sunset.
With so many options available, the hardest part will be choosing just one! You might want to start at the Cliff House. It has been around since 1858 and is a National Historic Landmark. The building was once a mansion but is now a restaurant. It offers an impressive view of the Pacific Ocean, which will look even more impressive with the sun setting on it.
Another popular place for watching the sunset is from the Golden Gate Bridge. This is one of the world’s biggest bridges and a remarkable sight to see. It has been featured in several television shows and movies.
One of the most famous is “Francis Gary Power’s” from 1965. It tells the story of the time when the United States tried to capture Soviet satellites during the Cold War. Of course, this ended in failure when the astronauts were captured and the United States admitted fault for this incursion. The actual mission was launched from the Naval Air Station at the Golden Gate Bridge.
Another great place to watch the sunset is Crissy Field. This area contains a lot of recreational areas and museums. You can watch the sunset and then take a stroll along the beach or visit one of the many museums in the area.
It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon or even an entire day.
As the sun disappears over the horizon, it’s time to head out to dinner in style! There are many restaurants in this city that will serve you a five-course meal costing more than $100 per person. You could do that, or you could grab a bite at one of the many food trucks in the area.
These offer a vast variety of foods from all over the world, and you can find something that suits your taste and budget. For a nice soft taco, you won’t need to spend more than $5.
After dinner, you might want to take in a show. Famous singers and musicians often make stops in San Francisco during their world tours. Of course, if you’re not into the famous people, that’s fine because there are several local bands that will do just as well.
If you’re more into writing your own songs, why not stop by one of the many open mic nights that are held throughout the city? You never know, you might just be the next big star to come out of this city by the bay.
No matter what you decide to do in this fine city, we hope you have a wonderful stay!
