How tall should sawhorses be?

Sawhorse Plans: Tall or Short?

The height of the sawhorse plan is one of the most debated topics among woodworkers. There are many opinions on what type of sawhorses should be used. Some say that they need to have a high profile so that they don’t get in the way when working on other projects. Others say that it’s better if the sawhorse doesn’t reach all the way up to the ceiling. Still others say that it shouldn’t be taller than necessary since there will always be room for additional workstations underneath.

What is your opinion? Is a high profile good or bad? Do you think that extra space under the desk would be helpful or detrimental? Let us know in our comments section!
