Joist Blocking Methods: What are they?

The purpose of blocking between joists is to prevent water from entering your home through cracks or holes in the wall. Installing Outlets

Hang the new outlet against the wall and then feed the black wire with the red stripe through the opening for that prong. Attach it to the lower terminal and repeat this process for the green and yellow wire, attaching them to the upper terminal.

Now, push the wires back into the wall, put the cover back on and screw it into place. Turn the power back on and test the outlet.
