How to Fix Ge Dishwashers That Won’t Start?
Ge dishwashers are made up of several parts such as the control board, the heating element, the water pump and other components. If these parts don’t work properly, it will affect the functioning of your GE dishwasher.
You may have noticed that your GE dishwasher doesn’t start when turned on.
The first thing you need to do is check if there’s any damage or malfunctioning part in your GE dishwasher. If there is, then you’ll want to replace them before trying anything else.
The next step is to check the fuse box. There are several fuses inside it that might have blown out during use.
Be sure to check them all before moving on.
If your GE dishwasher is still under the manufacturer’s warranty and there are visible damages, you can get it repaired free of charge, assuming the cause of damage was a manufacturing defect.
If the fuse box doesn’t seem to be the problem, then you might need to replace the heating element.
If there aren’t any manufacturing defects found, or your GE dishwasher isn’t under warranty, you can always fix the problem yourself by buying new replacement parts.
You can find the heating element in the bottom of your GE dishwasher. The technical term for it is thermistor.
Before getting started, you should make sure you have the right replacement part for your model. This way, you can avoid unnecessary troubleshooting and get your dishwasher up and running in no time!
This is a small metal wire coil that gets hot when electricity flows through it. It’s normally located at the bottom left side of the inside of your dishwasher. If you can’t find the part you need, try searching online. Most of the time you’ll find several sites that carry the part you need, and many of them are quite reputable.
It’s easiest to remove the bottom panel of your dishwasher to get to the heating element. This is a plastic panel located on the bottom of your dishwasher.
Just make sure you buy your part from a site that is reputable, to avoid getting scammed. Use a screwdriver to take it off and you should see the heating element. Unplug the electrical connectors attached to the heating element, then remove the screws holding it in place.
